Common questions
Nothing. We are paid a commission by the insurer you choose, not by you. That commission is built into the premium whether you use a broker or go direct, so going direct does not make it cheaper.
An agent represents one insurance company and sells that company’s products. A broker is independent and represents you. We hold contracts with a broad panel of insurers and place your business with whichever one fits best.
Most quotes go back within one business day. Straightforward auto and home policies are often same day if you reach us before mid afternoon.
Yes. All of our brokers are licensed through RIBO, the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario, which sets the standards brokers in this province have to meet.
No. We are licensed across all of Ontario. We are based in Alliston and most of our clients are nearby, but where you live in the province does not limit whether we can help.
Sometimes. Cancelling early can carry a short rate penalty, so we work out whether the saving beats the cost before recommending a move. Often the right answer is to switch at renewal instead.
Call us before you call anyone else. We tell you what to photograph, open the claim with the insurer and deal with the adjuster on your behalf. You keep the same broker throughout.
Not by default. Sewer backup and overland water are separate endorsements on almost every Canadian policy. We go through both with you rather than leaving you to find out later.
Yes, and it usually helps. Bundling attracts discounts with most insurers, and it means one person knows the whole picture instead of three companies each seeing a piece of it.
Ask us directly. It is a quicker answer than reading another page.
